GRAHAM DOUGLAS STRATFORD, 18, PAPARAZZI (JOURNALIST), HETEROSEXUAL, CHARMING History~ Born into a wealthy family, Graham wanted nothing more than to leave the big city and explore the rest of the world to broaden his horizons. With both parents as lawyers, he greatness was expected from him since the day he was born. He attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City, but due to its focus on mathematics and science, his grades were average since he wanted focus on English and Sociology. His parents were under the impression that he would be going into journalism and work at Wall Street, but after realizing the corrupt and deceptive nature of journalism, he didn’t apply to any colleges. He decided to run away before his parents found out, who would buy his way into a college. He left a note to tell his parents of his intentions, hoping that would refrain from taking any media action. After reaching as far as New Jersey, his parents phoned him and agreed to give him a gap year to figure out what he wanted to do. If he didn’t they would force him to go to school. He returned home to make amends with his parents and they wished him well as he packed his bags to tour the country. With little ideas, he found himself stopping at hotels in major cities to find some inspiration to write. While at a concert in Cleveland, he earned a backstage pass to Panic! At the Disco, with whom he had the chance to interview. He posted the interview on his blog that he started when he first made his journey and it became a hit over the span of a week. He began to find more bands to interview, many of which are mainstream. Like with Wall Street, he found them to be corrupt and shallow, so he retreated back and refused any interviews. He now has reached a rut in his life, but he has resolved to find new bands to talk to and learn their stories in order to help them reach fame. Personality~ While Graham is a natural introvert, his passion for journalism taught him how to reach out to others and he has become quite the charmer. Armed with charisma, he can manipulate the conversation to extract the information he needs. Despite this, he does not wish to “expose” anyone, but rather capture the essence of a person in his writing. He likes to keep a fairly calm and collected attitude to keep up his professional appearance, but he does have his carefree side. He’ll gladly spend a day in a bookstore, poured over a book with a cup of coffee, or a night out in a club. People fascinate him, and he’ll take any opportunity he can to learn more about them. Last Blog Entry: So I’m in California now. It’s different than New York; it’s relaxed and laid back. No one is in a hurry to get anywhere, the only thing important is “catching some waves” or the next party. That’s what I like about going to new places; you see a different way to live life. It may be different, but that’s never a bad thing. It’s just a new perspective. Hopefully I’ll be finding some new people to talk to and I’ll write an entry on that. I know it’s been awhile, but it takes some time to get to the heart of California and get set up with everything. You guys think I’m crazy for travelling the country by bus or train, but let me tell you, it’s quite humbling. I see everything from ghettos to the fabulously rich, and the differences between the two lives are something to be analyzed. Maybe one day I’ll write an article on that, but I would have to focus in more on the topic. My room is ready now, I’m writing this in the hotel lobby, so once I see some sights I’ll post up another entry, alright? Bye for now, Graham. STRAY, 16, PM or ask for screen name~ |
