When Laina said she wanted to be a makeup artist, what she did now was definitely what she'd expected. She had always thought she would grow up and become one of those world-famous movie artists, or a celebrity's personal beauty stylist. Though being Eyes of Hysteria's makeup artist wasn't too far from that, she still dreamed about other jobs. It wasn't like she would be stick with the band forever, anyways. One day, they'd get tired of her, or she'd get tired of them, and she'd get a job elsewhere. Simple as that. Really, Laina was only thinking this because she'd had a dream the night before; she'd been a world-famous makeup artist that everyone wanted to work for them. It was that status she wanted to work her way up to; she wasn't going to stop until she got there.
As she walked down a sidewalk, Laina found herself humming one of Eyes of Hysteria's songs. She actually hadn't heard of the band until she got her job, but she found herself really liking them. That was a good thing, too, since she heard them practicing almost constantly. It was actually one of the reasons she was out right now, instead of back at the venue. She was tired of constantly hearing music, like she was in some sort of movie with a soundtrack. Laina figured she would go out for a cup of coffee or something, instead of snapping with everyone around her. She probably hadn't been the best company the last couple of days, anyways.
She stared at her feet as she walked, not bothering to look up to see where she was going. Already, she had pretty much memorized the way to the closest coffee shop. Laina found herself memorizing the way to many places she went to; restaurants, stores, clubs, and so on. It was especially helpful if she'd gotten her hands on some alcohol at some party or club and had to walk back from there. Which, surprising (or not), had actually happened once...or twice. Laina looked up, seeing she was at the coffee shop. Putting a hand out in front of her, Laina pulled open the door. The line was surprisingly long. But then again, it was a bit early, perhaps people on their way to work were getting coffee? Laina could care less, as long as she got her drink.
After a couple minutes, it was Laina's turn. Quickly glancing up at the sign, she ordered the first thing she saw, a cafe mocha. She left her name after paying (and buying a bagel, yum) and walked off to the side, waiting for her drink to be prepared. The girl figured it would take a couple minutes, since they were pretty busy today. The shop wasn't actually that full; most were buying coffee then leaving. She liked that; Laina wouldn't have trouble finding a table to sit down at. Her eyes were trained on the counter where finished drinks appeared. Laina didn't want anyone to take hers--it had happened before, and she'd nearly tore the chick's head off.
